One of the activities that are considered interesting and beneficial for the children is the music, through different musical programs provided by the institution. These programs encourage children to learn music and develop their skills and gain knowledge about their own and other cultures and heritage. Music provides our children with a language and tool of communication with different children in other countries. There are different musical bands run under the general title "Assumoud Band for Palestinian Popular Arts" in Shatila, Burj Barajneh, Burj Shemali, Rashidieh, Beddawi and Nahr El Bared centers. The bagpipes band which consists of twenty five musicians, the brass band and consists of twenty five musicians, the string instruments band and consist of twenty eight musicians, the beat instruments band which consists of fourteen musicians, and Aghaneena Choir with 33 members.
The musicians’ ages are ranged between nine years old and twenties from both genders males and females without any discrimination. These bands participate in many national and international events. For example; the bagpipes band participated in international festivals in France twice and in Italy, Malaysia, and Germany as well. In addition to their participation in the local occasions in Lebanon.
