Activists from around the world commemorate the Sabra and Shatila massacre

On Saturday, September 14, European, American and Asian delegations (70 people) will arrive in Beirut to commemorate the Sabra and Shatila massacre, organized by the "Don't forget Sabra and Shatila” committee, founded by Italian journalist Stefano Chiarini. The delegations include journalists, activists, members of leftist parties, trade unionists and academics who have taken it upon themselves to visit Lebanon every year to learn about the lives of Palestinians in the camps and to declare their solidarity with them, and to convey the reality to their people. Delegations will tour the Burj al-Barajneh, Shatila, North Tower, Rashidiya, Nahr al-Bared and Mar Elias camps, meet with the families of the victims of the massacre, and then lay a wreath on the tomb of the martyr Maarouf Saad before moving to Khiam Detention Center, Mellita Museum and Maroun al-Ras Park.

During the tours, Lebanese and Palestinian personalities meet to discuss the situation of Palestinians. Artistic concerts and photo exhibitions will be organized on this occasion, which ends with a celebration at the Ghobeiri Municipal Cultural Center and a popular march to the martyrs of Sabra and Shatila.

This activity extends from 14/9/2019 till 21/9/2019.
