The children of Beit Atfal Assumoud handed a letter addressed to the UN Secretary General, Mr. António Guterres, condemning the recent violent events in al Quds and in Gaza Strip in Palestine. Emphasizing the rights of children, BAS children requested the UN works to stop the oppression and injustice practiced against the Palestinian people by the Israeli Occupation.
The letter prepared by the children was handed at the UN ESCWA building in Riad al Solh Square in Beirut Downtown.

Dear Mr. Antonio Guterres,
We, the refugee children of Palestine in the camps of Lebanon, in solidarity with the steadfastness of our brothers and peers in Jerusalem and the rest of Palestine, address you to take the necessary decisions and actions to above all protect the children of Palestine from Israeli brutal and racist attacks and practices, the most recent of which we see today in the Holy City; to condemn and stop these practices and attacks; and to hold accountable the perpetrators of crimes against the people of Palestine and violators of international conventions and treaties that protect children under any circumstance and safeguard their rights, particularly their right to life and to live safely in their homeland and land.
We would also like to remind you of the suffering and violated rights of Palestinian children in Gaza living under an unjust siege; of Palestinians children of the West Bank who are subjected to the racism and brutality of settlers and occupation soldiers; and of the children of the territories of 48 who suffer from racial discrimination. We would also like to remind you of our suffering along with our families in refugee camps as a result of our denial of our right to return to our homeland.
Mr. Guterres, how can the United Nations and the world leave an entire people oppressed and vulnerable under an apartheid regime perpetrating one documented crime against humanity after the other before the everyone to see?
