Beit Atfal Assumoud Organizes a Series of Activities in Rashidieh Center to Commemorate Palestinian Martyr’s Day and Support the Community:

Rashidieh Center, Lebanon – January 2025
Throughout January 2025, Beit Atfal Assumoud (BAS) implemented a range of national, educational, psychosocial, and artistic activities at Rashidieh Center. These initiatives aimed to commemorate Palestinian Martyr’s Day, promote community well-being, and empower children, youth, and mothers through awareness sessions and skill-building programs.

Family Happiness Program – Handicrafts Workshop

On January 4, 2025, youth participants from the Family Happiness Program took part in a handicrafts workshop, where they created wreaths to honor Palestinian martyrs.

Psychosocial Support Program – Engaging Children and Mothers
  • During the first ten days of January, several interactive activities were conducted with different groups of children and mothers, fostering emotional resilience and well-being.
  • Throughout the week, additional activities were held for various children’s groups, providing educational and psychological support.
  • A series of awareness sessions was conducted for kindergarten students' mothers, focusing on parenting skills and child development.
Peer Education Program – Awareness Sessions for Students

Every Thursday, BAS organized awareness sessions at Al Aqsa Secondary School, where students engaged in discussions on health, social awareness, and essential life skills.

Makani Project – Life Skills Awareness for Youth

As part of the Makani Project, BAS conducted a series of life skills awareness sessions throughout the week for a group of youth, covering topics such as communication, decision-making, and self-development.

Kindergarten – National, Educational, and Recreational Activities
  • On January 7, 2025, kindergarten students (KG1 & KG2) participated in a national activity commemorating Palestinian Martyr’s Day through storytelling, artistic expression, and discussions on Palestinian heritage.
  • Throughout the week, BAS organized national, educational, and recreational activities for kindergarten students, promoting learning and cultural identity.

Visit to Martyrs’ Cemeteries

On January 6, 2025, sponsored families, youth, children from all programs, workers, and volunteers from BAS visited the martyrs’ cemeteries, placing wreaths to honor their sacrifices. The Director of Rashidieh Center, Mr. Mahmoud, delivered a speech about the significance of Palestinian Martyr’s Day.

Honoring the Families of the Martyrs

On January 10, 2025, BAS held a special event to honor the families of Palestinian martyrs, recognizing their sacrifices and contributions to the Palestinian cause.

Art Exhibition – "Don't Compromise... Draw and Resist"

On January 14, 2025, an art exhibition was organized at the entrance of Rashidieh Camp to commemorate Palestinian Martyr’s Day. The exhibition featured artwork reflecting the Palestinian struggle, resistance, and hope, with widespread participation from residents, institutions, and students.

Pajama Distribution for Children

During the last week of January, BAS distributed pajamas to 27 children, ensuring warmth and comfort during the winter season.

Through these initiatives, Beit Atfal Assumoud remains committed to empowering the community, preserving Palestinian heritage, and providing essential support to children, youth, and families in Rashidieh Center.
